Giving FTB 4gb of ram, still crazy lag?

I have a windows 7 pc with 8GB of ram, but i still only get at maximum 15-20 fps in the direwolf20 and mindcrack pack. Any other modpack is 60fps easy. any suggestions?

Graphics are updated, Optifine is already in and set to absolute lowest settings, Thinking its a memory leak or my grahpics card iteslf isnt at 100% anymore. IT has been crashing alot...

there is no point giving minecraft 4 gb ram. it hardly uses more then 500 mb. So do't do that. let it clean so java can eat it with no reason.
