  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Title:
GGservers.net Multicraft Server issues [Running 8547ms behind, skipping 170 tick(s)]
Launcher Version:
1.7.
Modpack:
FTB:Infinity
Modpack Version:
1.7

Details of the issue:

EDIT: Possible fix: http://imgur.com/J1FwfHg

I'm renting a server from ggservers.net. It's a premium coal plan (2048mb or 2gb of ram), should be fine for 6-10 people and FTB Infinity mod pack, right?

I start the server, SOMETIMES, this will happen: http://imgur.com/g7myRxp

Other times, memory goes down, and I can move around a bit, but once I fly for about 5-10 minutes to explore, memory gets to 100% and I start getting error messages after another the more I explore (Also chunks stop loading) This is one of the error messages I get in the console (they are all the same just bigger and bigger numbers)
Console says:
20.06 22:42:51 [Server] INFO [22:42:51] [Server thread/WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 8547ms behind, skipping 170 tick(s)

the more I explore (Also chunks stop loading)

I am completely unable to log into the server unless I delete the map and restart the server after this happens. Just restarting the server wont let me log in.

This is showing EXACTLY how I installed the server (It's my video) Maybe I installed it wrong and it fucked something up? http://imgur.com/KGnR9Zl this is my server folders, let me know if u need a looksy inside one of them and ill show you.

Maybe it's not my faulth and ggservers is the blame for it? I opened a ticket as well but doubt they can help me. usually I have to figure everything out by myself or forums :p

Another thing is, the server is always listed as offline even when its definetively online. My friends can be logged in and I can be logged in, and it will be offline in the controll panel like this: http://imgur.com/UC7eyRT and it's definetively being hosted by that IP so I know it's them hosting it.

We used to play with a much smaller server (Stone plan WITHOUT Premium enabled) using FTB:Monster, there was no problems what so ever. We could explore insane amounts and there would never be a single problem.

Now we get problems even with 1 person when we explore for 5 minutes and a complete restart with a new world is required. And it will still stop working after 5 minutes.

If you need more info, just tell me.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Some more information

So I reinstalled it on a new controll panel, new server, I redownloaded the files - everything was fresh. I installed it in the same way, and honestly, I think the problem must be where the server stores the exploration we have done (or something like that). Can someone who knows whats up please take 5 minutes of their time to watch this video and maybe you can point out a mistake I did, installing the server mod (FTB Infinity) to the server? Thats showing exactly the way I did it.

I launched a vanilla MC server to test with the same hosting company and the first difference I notice is that the light switch is now green in my controll panel (When a server is online it's supposed to light green). With the mod pack that doesn't happen. The server works fime, so it's the mod pack causing it, and if you think I need more ram on the server, that can't be it. There are many servers with way less ram who can do this mod and ftb:monster takes up more space, and worked fine on a 1 gb server for a long time. No problems.

I think it might be one of the mods in the mod pack thats casuing it, but then everyone should have the same problem, right? Else it's me installing it wrong.
Or maybe since the main server doesn't recognize that the server is actually running, it doesn't receive and store the information to the main server, so the part of the server that's running will crash cus its overloaded?

To be honest I have no idea, just some guesses/thoughts really.

Did they sell dedicated CPU core(s) to you or something else? What is their guaranteered CPU share per customer if they are overcommiting CPU cores?

Can you upload logs and your server startup parameters?

I was at a point where I had almost given up, so I was just doing random stupid stuff that would never work...

I did something weird and apperently it fixed it for me. What I did: http://imgur.com/J1FwfHg

The server stayed online through the night and I could explore for a few hours with no problems, but the memory always been high (It sticked at 100% - 90% while I was exploring yesterday, now it went down to 86% when I was sleeping, is this normal and wont be an issue later?

Also, the green dot works now when the server is online, yay thats a good sign! http://imgur.com/6USSPFB

Why did that fix it lol, I dont understand at all. Also, now memory stays at 100% (But will probably go down slowly later?) which worries me to be honest, is that ok? Seems to work fine though.
