First post :p

I have been playing Agrarain skies for about a week and have some pretty good technology setup (pulverizer, autonomous activator, mob farm, etc) The one thing thats really holding me back is that I have almost no redstone. I have run stacks upon stacks of dust through the sifter and get maybe one or two pieces. Does someone know if there are other good methods for getting more redstone? Thanks!

A witch spawner, which also gives you glowstone and gunpowder. You can get a witch by throwing a Priest villager into a block with Witch Water. (If you pick the wrong kind of villager, he will turn into a zombie.)

... or use Bees.

Also the Redstone producing bees are one of the required bee types so it is not a bad investment.

Be lucky on reward bags and get 3 stacks of nether redstone ore :D

You should get to automating dust sieving asap if you don't get that reward, 2-3 autonomous activator with 3 pulveriser

+1 on the auto sieving.
Haven't had any problems on redstone since that, I currently have about 28 stacks, do the destabilised redstone quest as soon as possible, since you get about 3x the redstone back.

Ofcourse, my playthrough has yet to become tech heavy, so might run into problems later on

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but no matter which villager I put in witch water they just sorta burn up and die?

First off, have you thrown in a priest? Second, obviously, are you in peaceful? Third, please tell me you aren't making them and putting them straight in.

1) I have definitely thrown in a priest
2) not on peaceful

3) Well, yes I suppose I was. I spawned them with the auto-spawner, caught them in a safari net, and dropped them in. Tried it with source block, flowing, and submersion. Basically the same as what I did to get a wither skeleton.
When all this failed I flooded most of the spawn room with witch water save for a spawn pad.

When this failed I just farmed mysterious safari nets until I got one with a witch in it, but I would like to know what I've done wrong.

Oh, well, in which case #3 isn't a issue, it's only a matter if you don't have MFR to spawn villagers and use the villager spawn egg.

As far as I know, you should have gotten at least one witch if you threw in at least one priest.
I could of course ask if you checked for sure if it was a priest by checking his trades/robes, but that's unneeded. If you're sure you used a priest, I'll take your word for it, and suggest you ask @Jadedcat if anything has changed with spawning witches in AgS lately.

Well, admittedly I didn't exactly double check, but the trades were redstone and glowstone, which I seemed to remember being in vanilla that signified a priest. I could be mistaken though.

Dust sifting not generating enough redstone? Admittedly I started to run short when I started AE, but then I turned my laser on. The quest to make it gives three red filters, which may have contributed to the redstone ore, and nether redstone ore that has overwhelmed me with the stuff. Im going to have to expand my AE storage a lot or start voiding the stuff...
