Game crashes at startup

Title Game crashes at startup

Details of the issue I was trying to make sneaky blocks show as dark glass, by clicking on them with dark glass in hand. As soon as I did the first one, the game crashed with an "unexpected error" message. I did not see a log file. Had to be away from home for a few days, and when I started the game again today, it got to the point of displaying the hotbar, and then halted, black screen, and exited with "unexpected error".

I can't get past that. What can I do to recover the game?

Thanks grandrolf. Er... the launcher seems to have changed since I last used it a few days ago - I don't see any tabs now? I had a nosey around it but nothing seemed to fit what those instructions described. It lloks like this now (but I'm sure you know that!):

I've found a log file, dated today, in "D:\Users\<my_name>\Documents\Curse\Minecraft\Instances\FTB Presents Direwolf20 1.10\logs" called "latest.log". I won't paste it here as it's 369Kb, but the last 1/8th has the word "ERROR" on almost every line.

Please - what do I do now? I'd really like to be able to get on with the game.
 
Thanks grandrolf. I managed that, just not sure who exactly to send the link to - step 6 says "share the link with us" -- who is "us"? What will happen next?
 
A suggestion is to share the link here, then hopefully someone can help you to figure out what's the issue and also suggest a solution.
 
Thank you - it took me a while to figure that out! :)

There was a download link next to the "Play" button in the Curse DW20 modpack window, so I d/l and installed the latest version. That seems to have corrected the problem.
