Windows .exe Game Crashes Almost Immediately

Operating System: Windows 7 (64 bit)

As the title says, FTB crashes almost immediately upon loading any pack. Shortly after I hit "Launch", the Minecraft window will show up, then close itself within a matter of seconds. This problem has been plaguing me for almost half of a year now, and I can't find any solutions. So far, the only 'fix' I've come up with is downgrading to Java 6 Update 25. If I do that, the game will launch with an odd quirk where it reconfigures the item ids on every load, making it impossible to play on servers with my friends. Any help would be appreciated. To play any 1.6 pack, except FTB Lite 2, you will need to be using 64 bit java.

One question why is java running from the X drive. Is the X drive your windows drive.

I would suggest following the basic trouble shooting guide linked below. If you still have issues then post a fresh log.

I am running 64 bit java, although I forgot to mention that. My X drive is my second hard drive, which I installed Java to in a vain attempt to see if that would change anything. However, I think I may have both 32 bit and 64 bit installed. I'll uninstall the former and see if that makes a difference.

As for the basic troubleshooting guide, I've followed it numerous times to no avail.

I'm no expert with this stuff, but it seems to consistently fail here:
java.net.MalformedURLException: no !/ found in url spec:file:/C:/Users/shawn/Desktop/ftb/libraries/com/paulscode/soundsystem/20120107/soundsystem-20120107.jar!/paulscode/sound/SimpleThread.class
Does that mean anything to you?

Could you post the crash log listed below is. It is from the end of your log.

I have checked my folder regarding the paulscode error and there are no folders after .jar file. So not sure what that is.

Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.net.MalformedURLException: no !/ found in url spec:file:/C:/Users/shawn/Desktop/ftb/Magic_World_2/minecraft/mods/twilightforest-1.20.2.jar!/twilightforest/TFTickHandler.class

Unfortunately this appears, to me at least, to be a mod bug, if reinstalling the Twilight Forest mod does not fix it. You could try updating the version of Twilight Forest and see if that fixes it. The mod is currently version 1.20.3 and has fixed a few errors. Not sure if this is one of them that was fixed, but it might be. Hopefully a newer version of recommended will come out for Magic World 2 with this version in it if it fixes it for you.

I don't believe it to be a Twilight Forest issue. I just downloaded the Magic Farm 2 pack, which doesn't have Twilight Forest, and got the same crash error I've been getting with Magic World 2, which can be found here: http://pastebin.com/jcLrzMNS

It seems to be something with the sound system, but I can't tell what. All of my audio drivers are installed, updated, and working fine.

Try running it without and texture/resource packs - Iv been having same issues when using a resource pack

I apologize I was going off of the error report. It appears that one of the libraries files that minecraft uses is either not there or corrupted. You might be able to copy over the libraries folder from a vanilla install to fix this. See if vanilla works for you then copy over the libraries folder.

Vanilla Minecraft works just fine, but unfortunately that didn't work. This seems to be an issue with Forge, or the FTB launcher itself.

Well I've messed around a little bit. I deleted the libraries folder and let it download a new one, and I'm getting a new error in the console:

Error: Could not find or load main class net.minecraft.launchwrapper.Launch

So... yeah.

I'd strongly advise completely removing and reinstalling Java as per the basic troubleshooting guide; this strikes me as being an issue with your Java install.

Please do the following aside from trying the basic trouble shooting guide Dorque mentioned. Run check disk and see if it reports any errors. Add the folder 'C:/Users/shawn/Desktop/ftb/C:/Users/shawn/Desktop/ftb/' to exceptions list of your antivirus program. Defrag your computer. Each time it appears that minecraft is not able to find a file either inside a mod jar or the mod jar itself. Something is either corrupting them or keeping minecraft from accessing them. Hopefully one of these will either point to a cause or a solution.

Well, I've tried literally everything you guys suggested and I'm still turning up with the same results. Even after waiting 3 hours for my computer to check its disk, nothing came up wrong.

Something doesn't want me to play FTB, and it's doing its job just fine.

Right now I'm out of ideas. Has anything in the log changed or are you still getting the '[INFO] [STDERR] java.net.MalformedURLException: no !/ found in url spec:file:' errors in your log? I'm sure you will be asked anyway by someone else so I might as well ask for it. New log please.
