Galgadorian drill + cargo manager

Right. So i just built a galgadorian drill after about 7 hours farming ghast tears and spider eyes.

I have a cart that mines on layer 12 with extracting chests. It fills up rather quickly.

The problem i am having is emptying the cargo manager fast enough
Back in the days of redpower i used either a relay or a filter. Cant remember. Anyhow. It was more than fast enough to keep up.

Now im using a wooden pipe with autarchic gate from the manager to a ender chest. But its not nearly fast enough. The sorting system on the other side is not a issue. Emptying the cargo manager is.
Any suggestions ?

I am playing on the Ftb Unleashed pack.
I am not afraid of adding a mod if needed
And its in a different dimension so AE might be difficult. I think.. :p

Try an Automatic Wooden Transport Pipe with a regular Gate. Settings: Inventory has items > Extract items.
It should be a lot faster than the normal wooden transport pipe. Or Or alternatively, provide said wooden transport pipe with a lot of mj and see items fly!

Extra utilities is your friend here. Use item transfer node with max speed upgrades. It's quick, easy, and compact for your needs.

You can also use a higher-tier autarchic gate. The more "energy pulsar" things active on an autarchic gate, the faster it pulls out items. A diamond autarchic gate can pull out 2 stacks/sec.

Got some really nice suggestions here now. thanks.
Will get this system going now.

Well. after i find a solution to the pesky underground poison pools from BoP. They stop the drill cart. It doesnt know what to do with them. Liquid sensor do not work on them.

Any way to disable the poison pools ? or another workaround ?

Only thing I can suggest is to look at the config file for bop. There 'might' be an option in there to turn them off but I don't know for a fact there is. Or you could just go down from time to time with a few stacks of cobble and fill in the pools your self. With that drill it is not like you will have a shortage of it.

I don't think there is an easy fix for the BoP liquids. I eventually retired my cart because of it. Speaking of emptying the cargo manager quickly what I'd really like to see is a quicker way to empty the cart itself. It transfers so slowly to the cargo manager/distributor. When you've got a cart with so many inputs/outputs you need to make 3 stops that downtime really adds up.

Switched to MFR laser drills, no muss, no fuss, assuming you have plenty of power to spare. Use quarryplus if I need to mine something the laser drills don't get.

Quarries plus is just upgraded BC quarries. They can cover larger chunks of land but otherwise function the same as a standard BC quarry. You should be able to find it on minecraftforums.com but you will need to do the item id's for it yourself since it is not in any ftb packs.

Just something that people seem to forget, but the differing levels of autarchic gate can extract more at a time. The more slots you have set as "energy pulser", each pulse doubles in strength, up to a stack per pulse for a diamond gate.

Or, throw a redstone energy cell on it. That'll empty it out REALLY quickly.

Not just upgraded quarries.

QuarryPlus, PumpPlus, RefineryPlus, MarkerPlus, and tools to configure them.

The main draw of the mod for me is how it intelligently handles liquids when quarrying. It will drain liquids in the quarry itself and it will wall off any liquid coming in from the sides with quarry frame. That quarry frame walling stays there after you remove the quarry too, so you don't have to worry about all that stuff flowing into the hole after you pull the quarry.

It automatically voids the liquids, or you can configure PumpPlus's faces for liquid output.

Markerplus allows for 256x256 quarries.

The machines are enchantable too, so you can have a quarry with silktouch, or a quarry with fortune, and you can configure a blacklist(think it is a blacklist, not a whitelist, haven't used it) for stuff you don't want fortune or silktouch used on. Enchant them with efficiency and/or unbreaking to enhance energy efficiency/speed of operation.

It is less than 10 blockids, easy to fit into any pack. 3-4 different tiers of recipe difficulty you can configure as well, normal is fairly expensive already but you can make it cost more/less.

Just found out how the quarry pluss works with the liquids. Need to put a pump next to it. Mind blown.

And quarrypluswith unbreaking and efficiency with energy bridge and ultimate hybrid solar panel. Holy balls. galgadorian drill will be retired one day after making it :p

Nah, the underground liquids are the only downside of BoP over EBXL, and they are only bad in the poison biomes, in the hot springs they are pretty handy

The galgadorian drill is a fun little toy to use, but it has its drawbacks. Its inability to detect BoP liquids is one of them. Now, I always set up automining tools in a mystcraft age with a single biome (usually plains for bauxite).

BoP also chokes out vanilla biomes and any mod that relies upon them has to update to work around that. I think most of that is fixed in 1.6x versions.
