FTBApp not launching minecraft launcher

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

As said, I can start FTBApp with no trouble, but when I press play nothing happens.

I've already tried reinstalling and deleting the app, it changed nothing.

As the app does not crash, I have no crash logs.

I am in the same boat. I have 3 pcs in my home and all three and the same but for some reason on one pc no matter what i do it will not start any modpack. I click the play button and nothing happens. I have reinstalled, tried in different location and nothing. When I tried to migrate things it said i did not have permissiosn to write anything in the file but not sure if that was it. I am at a complete loss of what to do. I also tried running the modpack on a different system but due to how FTB is handling these things I cannot do that as well. This is a joke.

Right click your FTBApp program icon > open file location (+open file location again if it's a shortcut).

Using Linux Mint had the same Problem and fixed it that way.

Most problems with Linux and the new launcherapp is, that the app reqires openjava 11 , all modpack require openjava 8.

Fist uninstall the ftplauncher.
Install both versions of Openjava.
Reinstall the FTBlauncher.

Within the Launcher choose "Java Edition"
Goto "Installation"
Choose the version you want to play
Goto Edit
Goto Extendet Options
There set the path to java8.
Save your settings

The modpack should be startable now
