FTB Utilities: Backups take much longer than alternatives

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Title:
FTB Utilities: Backups take much longer than alternatives
Launcher Version:
Modpack:
Infinity
Modpack Version:
2.0.2
Log Link:
Details of the issue:
FTB Utilities backup takes around 5 minutes for my 2GB world. YetAnotherBackup mod or AromaBackup could do this in 20 seconds.

They are also much laggier; players experience much more lag than other backup mods.

Also, while not technically 'issues', the FTB Utilities config is in a strange location, the /admin command has no help, and you'd expect /ftbutils instead of /admin.

1) Im still looking for a better compression method, rn im using default Java one. And we were lagging a lot less with FTBU backups, dunno. + is this like a laptop? Because my laptop took 7 mins to compress 4gb world with its 2core proc and 4gb ram...
2) Config will forever stay in strange location, so it doesnt get affected by pack updates
3) /admin is easy to remeber and is ment only for admins, while /ftbutil might be mistaken as player command. And documentation is coming soon, its a huge mod

The server is a dedicated Linux server with middle-end specs. I guess the only thing I'm still concerned about is backup times and backup lag.
