Hey guys I've been playing FTB for a while now, and always had about 40-50 fps on normal render distance, and no crash issues. Oh how much that has changed. I don't know what happened, but I took a break from FTB for a while, (about a month) and came back to have horrible lag, and lots of crashes... even Blue Screens Of Death. I now play at 10 fps if I get lucky, and I've even tried a superflat world on Tiny... Still get about 5 fps. I can play vanilla minecraft on far and get 50 fps. I have also found that I get the Blue Screens Of Death when I use NEI, specifically backspacing in the search bar. I have absolutely no idea why I am getting lag and BSOD's. Please help.

How much RAM is in your computer, and how much is allocated to FTB? Some update that could've happened in that time may of reset your settings. Do you have Optifine installed? I used to have 10-15 FPS in FTB, and now I get around 30.
If you get BSODs it sounds like more than FTB is causing the problems. Run a full virus and system check. Try cleaning your PC case to see if your computer is over-heating and check airflow. You will also want to follow these steps.

StanicSanta has some good ideas, but I worry about your computer BSOD. At worst java should crash alone and not your whole computer to a BSOD.

My computer has 6 gigs and 2 are allocated to FTB. I usually have nothing else running while playing.[DOUBLEPOST=1367878723][/DOUBLEPOST]
It's definitely FTB. And it's definitely NEI. I did some more testing and whenever I backspace in NEI I get a BSOD.
Allocate less RAM. You only need about 1GB for it. My friend only uses 512 Mb for FTB and it runs great.
The only thing that I can think of when you say backspace is the problem with the search of '@Mod.Xycraft' When someone searches for Xycraft items and try to erase it the client will crash with this error in the error log.

The solution that I give for this problem that you might want to try is:
Back up your save. Delete the NEI folder and NEI.dat from the individual save's folder. There is an NEI folder and an NEI.dat just inside the saves folder delete those also. If this is a server you are playing on you need to look in the folder that has the same name as the IP of the server.
