FTB unleashed crashing randomly to desktop

It has been going on for quite some time. I play as nothing irregular, then all of a sudden crash to desktop. The debug window is still open, but the main window closes without posting an error report (as it usually does).

The crashes seems to be incoherent, as in they do occour randomly. Sometimes minutes after I join the server, other times I can play maybe an hour before the error occours.

I'm using BDcraft texture pack and I have added optifine (the correct version).

Optifine is not the cause, because the crashes occoured just as regularly after a fresh download of the modpack without using optifine. I have not yet tried running with the default texture pack, yet I struggle to see how the texture pack can cause CTDs.

I'm grateful for any help, and even for speculation into what might cause the problem.

Edit: Oh, and yes... I did reinstall Java and launcher.

This sounds like the same problem I've been having. I too have reinstalled Java and the launcher, as well as making sure that my graphics drivers are up to date. This seems to be a relatively common problem. Anyone know how to fix it?

And this time on standard texture pack. OpenGL turned off eliminate it as the cause.

I just started seeing this random crash to desktop today. I am not seeing any crash reports being generated, though.

I have found the possible cause for my crash... I used to have a mining turtle running, and now it's not running anymore. I haven't had one crash since I stopped the turtle, so I think it's linked.
