FTB ultimate running s-l-o-w.

Hello
lately i got a new laptop including these specifications:
CPU: Intel I5 3337u 1.9ghz (2.6ghz).

RAM:8gb ram 1600mhz.

GPU:NVIDIA Geforce 720m.

HDD:750gb 7200rpm.

running on windows 8 64bit.

the issue is that i run ftb ultimate pack on 10-20fps.
while on my older pc (e5400, 2gb ram and geforce 210..)
it ran on higher... T.T

anyways i checked my cpu usage and it only reached about 50-60%
also it barely used 40% of the dedicated ram.
and i'm not sure the gpu is being the bottleneck because maybe it's not a good gpu for gaming and such, but i play battlefield bad company 2 on medium settings on 60 fps...

also i run normal minecraft on 60 fps.

any1? please help?

If the laptop has a integrated video card as well as the Nvidia one make sure that minecraft is using the nvidia one.

I assume you bought the laptop because you need it for portability or because of space issues.

i usually manage to wait a few days before i get a responde.. :/
anyways:
1)how do i check what gpu my pc is using for it?
and how can i change and decide which gpu to use?

2)when will it be optimized?

1.4.7 will not be optimized. That's what 1.5.x did.

To add the jvm arguments. Launch FTB and click on options now on advanced options and the where is says Additional Java Parameters you paste the text from the jvm thread into that box.

With regards to the video card make sure to add java, i think it is javaw.exe you need to add, to the nvidia control panel this will ensure that it uses the nvidia card for minecraft.

Your graphic card has Nvidia Optimus technology. If you just installed your drivers and did nothing, then you must force Java to use dedicated GPU.

Also, for the JVM arguments follow UniZero's instruction.
Most importantly: use a 1.5.2 pack such as Unleashed or Unhinged.
With a laptop a little bit weaker than yours, I get ~20-30 FPS in Ultimate and 60FPS+ in Unleashed/Unhinged. And if I have modded 1.6.4 there's really no lag.

alright, i changed the thing with javaw and it seems to work much better. (40-60 fps with some fps spikes when map loads) (tried with unleashed)
tried doing these codes, didn't work for some reason.
but i guess my problem is solved
