Hello everyone.
I recently built my first foresty multifarm. My goal is to mass produce saplings for biomass (later ethanol).
However, after running the farm for a while, I noticed that it would have less and less trees. I trtied standard minecraft oak wood trees, as well as cherry wood trees from forestry itself.
It seems like for some reason the farm does not generate enough saplings to sustain itself, never mind creating a surplus of saplings for biomass.
Is this intentional? I was unable to find anything about this issue and most tutorials say this would be a good way to automate biomass generation.
Having a closer look at the multifarm farming trees, I noticed that trees are planted right next to each other, often growing with only one block space between them or even right next to each other, or even righ in between two other trees. This way, trees are unable to build a full tree top. They often will only have like 1/2 or even 1/3 of a treetop because of other trees right next to them. I would assume, that a treetop with 1/2 the size of a regular one would also only spawn 1/2 the saplings of a regular tree. Could this be the reason ?
If not, any idea what I could be doing wrong?
PS:
Using cherry wood trees I also noticed that the multifarm would not pick up the cherrys even though they are both part of forestry. Bug?
