Hey forum readers
I'm having some problems with the FTB Ultimate pack. When generating a new world it stops at the screen that says "Loading World Coverting World"
So far i tried reïnstalling Java (I have version 6)
But nothing I do seem to have any impact, I went over the logs but couldn't find anything particular.

Thanks in advance!

My logs:

Are you using 64-bit Windows? Also have you gone to the options screen on the launcher and increased the memory from the default? The FTB mods use a lot more memory compared to base Minecraft, and it appears from your logs that Java is running out of memory.

yes, I am using 64-bit Windows.
Yes, I updated the memory to 15 GB (So I do not think that is the problem.)
I'll do a search on the forums on how to fix the Java thingy.
Thanks :)

You might want to try Java 7 64-bit if you haven't already as well. I recall when I first started playing mindcrack I had issues with Java 6. Also you may not want to set it to 15GB, as depending on what software you are running you could be starving your OS and forcing it to swap. I run the latest version of Java 7 64-bit set to 8GB with ultimate and optifine and have no problems.

I'm having similar issues. I can't get a world to load, and if I start disabling things (taking out extrabees, extrabiomes, Twilight Forest, and ChickenChunks seems to do it), I can run for a few moments before I crash and I get flooded with memory-shortage errors in the console as I do. I've tried every memory value between 1GB and 6GB with no luck. I'm running the latest Java.

Running an 8 thread 3.2 GHz Intel processor and a GTX 660Ti, with 8 GB of RAM. I've been fiddling with this thing all night trying to get it to work.

Here's my pastebin dump: http://pastebin.com/1vVfJx4a. Stuck at Loading World: Building Terrain.

Did you manually install Java 7.17 64bit?, or did you install the 32bit version? According to the log, the Java 6 install is 64bit, but if you install java 7, it will uninstall java 6 automatically. Here is the download for Java 7 u17 64bit.

According to that installer, I'm already running 7.17 64-bit.

Though you can't link directly to it as you did; you'll get bounced out for not accepting the license agreement.

Can you look in the Java folder in program files, and see if there is a folder called "jre6". If there is, go into Programs and Features in Control Panel, and remove it. If its not in the Programs and Features list, delete the folder, and do a registry clean using CCleaner, then try running the ultimate pack again.
