hey there!

we are running a small ftb server @HostLegend (1gig ram, Xeon 1270v3 CPU) since 2 weeks. (previously, the server was hostet elsewhere [too less power])
In the beginning we had 90% RAM, 60% CPU. Since thursday we are experiencing huge lagspikes.
Both, CPU and RAM, are at 100% all the time (2 mins after a restart).

We are playing this game excessively. (is it that much?! --> we have no idea.)
Eg.:
- ~200-300 active mining Turtles (+ 10 XP turtles)
- many machines (Or.. are ~40 machines that much?)
- Applied Energistics (~1900 Energy Units --> 950EU/t)
- ~ 10 Soul Shard Spawners TierV always active (besides a blaze spawner.)

I think thats all about that aspect. I have no idea if any of the written points are really heavy or just normal. We are ftb noobs.

Now we think there are 2 options:
I) Optimize the Server (how?)
Is there a tool/plugin/mod like noLag for Bukkit? Or anything else?

II) Switch Host (which?)
Do you know a host which can handle this use?

We would appreciate any help. If you need more information, just ask :)

Thanks!!

Have you tried Nallars tick profiler? It may give you an indication of what is causing the server to lag. If there is a spesific thing, it will show up on the profiler. However, if there is a sum of a lot of things that are just causing the CPU to work constantly, it will in my experience not show up on the profiler. Check it out here:

https://github.com/nallar/TickProfiler

Put it in your mods folder (BACKUP FIRST!) and fire up your server and run the command: /profile 30. The output may tell you which chunk is taking a long time to compute or if there is a block that is causing the server to lag.

Good luck!

At home I was fine too. Maybe its something with the provider here..

Nevermind, I installed it and it is very nice to see. We found the source very fast.

Applied Energistics was a very huge problem + 20 XP Turtles.

Now we have Tick Threading installed and we dont have a problem anymore.
