Hai

So where exactly should i look for tin ?

I have been reading around. And some say 25-50. Some say 30 and down. And some say 40 and above.

Which is the correct ? i got like 10stacks of iron, gold and other stuff. But copper and tin. Especcialy tin is really hard to get by.

Which layers should i put my strip mines ? (using the regular 3 blocks between branch mine technique)

25-50 should be it, if I remember FTB's default config correctly. You can look up the exact value in your Thermal Expansion config file.

It's generally a good idea to mine around y=45 to get both copper and tin.

You can go one or two blocks down from that as well, but yeah, 45 and 12 are pretty much the only two levels you need to mine.
Or you could make a quarry, IC2 miner, or RP2 frame quarry.

Thanks guys. Gonna set up a few miners. My quarry. Set my centrifuge on lava and make a strip mine at 45.

You can check for sure by looking at the thermal expansion config. That's what handles the oregen in FTB's packs.

But then he needs to restart in a new world (or mine in previously unexplored chunks).
