Is it possible to set up a server with different mob spawning rules for different worlds?

I was playing around with Mystcraft worlds, and the twilight forest (AWESOME mod!)

I want my main realm to be hostile mob free so I can work on my machines in peace (I hate creepers blowing up the landscape), then when I want to fight, I can go to the Nether, forest or even a mystcraft world.

I can do it in SSP just by changing the difficulty, but on a server, I'd have to stop edit and start again. Kind of annoying.

Well, you can turn explosions off for creepers. I don't think you can change the spawn ability in the over world without making the game peaceful though.

I don't want to turn off the explosions, that's the fun of creepers. I just don't want them exploding near any of my fancy, intricate machinework :) Plus having a landscape full of creeper holes gets ugly.

Would there be any kind of server plug-in that can set up a "hostile-free" zone? That would be even better than my original question.

You can change mobgrief to false and that will still allow creeper explosions to kill players but they won't destroy any blocks.

You don't do it in a file, you do it ingame.

Your singleplayer world needs to have "cheats enabled" during world creation, or you need to find a way to get access to a command block (like, via NEI or switching to creative mode). On a server, you need to be an admin to make the setting.

Bring up a chat prompt (or the command block interface), and type exactly as it is shown (it is case sensitive):

/gamerule mobGriefing false

If you were using a command block, you now need to give it a redstone signal with a button. From then on, creepers, ghasts and whithers will not be able to destroy blocks anymore (but they will still blow you up if you let them). Also, Endermen won't be able to pick up blocks anymore.

Ok thanks
