ftb server problems help pls

Me and my friend are trying to play together on a server that runs off my laptop although he can't connect to it from his house I was wondering what the server ip should be set as and if we both need to have the port 25565 forwarded to connect

Are you going to be playing the game from the same laptop? If so you have problems doing that.

Do you have the server up and running at the moment?

I can either play on my laptop or another one.people can connect to it in my home wireless but not from my friends network yes the server is up and running

Is your router setup correctly to allow your friend to connect.

I've got my ports that I need open not sure what else to setup on my router. I need someone to try connect to see if its his routers problem
