Hi

I have my FTB unleashed server open on my VPS, but when I go into the FTB unleashed client, it still says "Can't reach server" - Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

Sounds more like this question needs to be answered by your hosting provider. We can't check your configs etc ;-)

Are you sure you used the correct IP and port settings? if your IP is 1.1.1.1 and the port is 25565 you connect to the address 1.1.1.1:25565

Yeah that looks good, just a default Minecraft server. Might be a firewall somewhere.. On your end, or at the VPS.

Where is it hosted? A special Minecraft VPS service or standard VPS server where you have full access and can do what you want?

In that case it's most likely a firewall on the VPS blocking the traffic. Best way to solve this is to ask the VPS guys, they should know how that stuff works.

It's from a singleplayer point of view, yes. But it should apply to your server too. Try the same modpack in singleplayer game and you should get the same errors. Follow the guide from there and apply the changes you make also to the server files.

There is really no easy "press this button" to solve these issues. Managing a Minecraft server is not exactly easy, especially when running a custom modpack.

Note: This could also be caused by a modpack mismatch between the client you use to connect and the server itself. You are sure you're using the correct client?

Edit: Actually, I think a mismatch between client and server is the reason for this error. You need to use the same mods and configs in your client as you run on the server. Though, i'm not exactly an expert on these issues. You might have to wait for someone with more knowledge to notice this thread, i'm more a network guy.

I can run a join.me so you can check things over if you'd like? The only reason I am setting this up is for a YouTube series, once it's up and running nothing will be changing.

I'm confused - this stuff makes no sense to me :p

Sorry, i'm not interested in a remote viewing session. Like I said, i'm not expert myself on these item/block id conflicts!

Hope someone comes by soon to help you out with this.

You indeed have the wrong configs/mods on either the server or the client if the server is using the correct mods try to copy the config folder to the client. If that doesn't work then I have no idea how it happend.

Hmm? If comfigs were wrong he wouldn't get a "can't reach server" he would see it up and when trying to join it would say some id conflicts.
