Hey guys, I have been playing the new moddpack, Resurrection for almost two weeks now and have hit a wall. The first day I played, I found diamonds within 20 minutes of playing and since then, havent been able to find anymore. I was just wondering if I was just having bad luck or if diamonds are just that scarce in this new pack.

Ores are spawning in large but rare veins (save for small ores).
Look near where you found diamonds the first time. There are most likely many more diamonds (unless it was small diamond ore).

Edit: Look here

You can find diamond veins down in the same area you usually find diamonds in minecraft. You just need to keep looking. The flux pickaxe on 1x3 mode will dig exploratory tunnels very quickly. Stick a /dev/null in your pack for all the cobble. Explore every cave/ravine you run into. Add waypoints to your minimap for any ore vein you might want to mine later.

A couple other things you might consider:

Mining turtles and mining wells. Not specifically for mining but for taking core samples. Set them up on the surface, have them dig a shaft down to bedrock, check their output to see if they hit a good vein.

I mined all around that area and found 4 diamonds the first time and found nothing. I found plenty of other ores, caves and ravines. I finally did find 6 more diamonds over 100 blocks away from my house so i can finally make more progress.

The last vein I cleared out had ~60 diamonds just from the diamond ore. Not sure I've even seen a small diamond ore now that I think about it, just veins. I'll fire up the game and see how long it takes me to find a new vein. :)

And boom, there it is. That is just the tip of a vein that who knows goes how far? I see 4 blocks of diamond ore which means 8 diamonds right off the bat. 15m including time to start the pack.

I'm using Pyrolusite's alternative GT textures, btw.

I'll mine it out now and see how many diamonds I get. :)

Mined it out, 22 diamond ore, 70 Nikolite ore, 3 and a half stacks of Teslatite. So that is 44 diamonds from the ore, plus another 7 from the Nikolite, plus some tiny diamond dusts after everything is processed. Not too shabby for 15m of digging.

I'd strongly suggest only using mined diamonds for things you can't use industrial diamonds for, unless you luck out and find a large diamond vien (which you will eventually) Coal is extreemly plentiful and since one coal ore gives 6 coal in a pulverizer each stack of coal ore can easily be converted to 6 industrial diamonds. You only need to find one diamonds to start making industrial ones with Greg tech. Pulverizing coal is very slow so you'll want to make a macerator.
Save the found diamonds for recipes that can't use industrial ones.
