Try Dxtory. It's very similar to XSplit, but more versatile, allows for many different codecs and, most importantly, records in a single video file instead of many fragments.

Dxtory alone can't stream. You can set it up as a camera for XSplit, though, which can often be a really good alternative for game source as far as performance goes.

True that, game source for Xsplit alone knocks about 5-7 fps from me.
