FTB Pyramid Reborn - What's the point of the blacker lotus?

Just did the EU providing challenge and got Aluminium and a Blacker lotus, but it seems I can't dupe it. The guide says there's a black lotus on it that can be duped.

I know the table may not be trustworthy due to updates like I've seen in other threads but if that's the case why do you still get the blacker lotus as a reward? Seems really weird getting a single use non-dupable consumable in a area where your rewards are stuff you can dupe or otherwise grow.
 
It's just a decent start on your mana production as far as I can see. You can use other renewable resources to produce mana.
 
Yep. The blacker lotus is a particularly considerable boost to mana, relative to the black lotus, and that would be a bit OP if it was dupable.
