Hello everyone,

I am considering a swich from windows to linux and i was testing a few things
with a live USB-stick to see what worked and what needs a fix.
I have tried to install FTB but I could only install the old launcher (and it seems to not have the latest
modpacks there).

I did get the .sh file but it doesn't do anything when I run it.
Are there instructions to how to install the new launcher on linux?

Best regards

For me it was making sure my version of Java on my machine was default to 17 (not 18 - which was my default) and I was able to get the installer to run.
I'm on Manjaro so the command is different but it would be something like update-alternatives, and I'm using jre17-openjdk

update-alternatives --config java - to be exact in Ubuntu and Debian based Linux land.
for Arch/Manjaro it's archlinux-java status, then archlinux-java set java-17-openjdk

From there I was able to get it installed and launched. I wish you luck.
