My computer has 4GB of RAM installed along with 64-bit Java. I launch FTB with 3.75GB of RAM and when I check Resource Manager, I still have 1.2GB of RAM unallocated, yet FTB is still very laggy. (25 FPS max)
Any solutions?

Dont allocate that much ram to the game. Specially not with only 4GB ram to start with. If you force your game to allocate almost all your RAM, your OS and everything else on your computer is getting starved, leading to something having to be run off your harddrive instead, causing a massive bottleneck. My computer has 4GB of RAM installed along with 64-bit Java. hehe yeah ok, RAM is your work floor, and HDD is your store room. And setting aside all your work floor for a job that dont need it, forces you to use the store room for work, which its not designed for(slowing down work since its so far from the machines)Actually, more RAM wont let you do more work at the same time. Its just more space to have ongoing work easily accessible, so you wont have to go to the storage (HDD) and waste time searching for the things you need.
Nothing really wrong with your explanation, but i don`t like misunderstandings on "good to know"-stuff like this

This is the best solution.I found this thread by Eyamaz to be extremely useful:
JVM Arguments for Modded Minecraft (Updated 11/11/13)
Fiddling with the java params lifted my FPS from 25 to 70.
Java is like a fat kid with cake. If you let it have everything it will not know what to do with it, then it'll eat it all. If you limit it, it's better used.
