Ftb monster glitch/bug, rare area?

Me and a friend was mining on the 12th level yesterday.

He ended up in an area next to green water coming out of the wall. I assume it was because of the biome we was in. We scooped the water up, but it seemed to remain normal water.

Anyway the point of all this is we was getting free xp just by standing in the little room next to water. It just kept coming. We couldn't physically see xp balls, but our bar was constantly going up in that area.

We could hear zombers hitting doors above us, and ended up finding what appeared to be a prison. It was directly above the xp area.

I've never seen anything like that in mc, but basically want to know where the hell all the free xp is coming from.

I was standing in this bright orange luminescent water the other day and there was this red rocky stuff all round me and it was causing me massive damage even though I had armour on. Someone should change that red rock, it really is horribly OP

Green water which is normal water after all sounds like you're in a biome where water is green.

First glance I thought the water was a fountain of mob essence, but afterword my first assumption was it had to be coming from a crystal. On top of hearing zombies pounding on doors, I could also hear a crystal making crazy sounds. I was in an all around crazy/ awesome area.

I'll have to watch out for those red ones you speak of, but on the other hand they would make a great mob grinder if you can harvest them.

Also, it's the purple crystal that gives xp. Thanks for clearing up that it was geostrata crystals.

I have several times found these pools of green/cyan water underground. Standing in it will give you regeneration. If you try to scoop it up in a bucket it turns into regular water and if you place the water back down it is clearly different than the other fluid in the pool(I did it on the picture above over near the left Torch, the clear block is regular water).

A more notable effect distancing it from normal water is the particle effect that it gives off. I would probably not have noticed it really had it not been because I found the place with Nightvision on:

That would be spring water from BoP. You can only move it with amethyst buckets.

Nope it looked like this. I noticed the green water and thought it was exp essence. I now realize it was the crystal giving the exp. The water is just green from what ever biome is above me.

If that's water above you, why oh why are you so close to poison? You really ought to clean that up. I may just contact the WHIMS inspector I know. He's currently locked up in the same room as the Nuclear Reactor he wanted to investigate. With luck, he'll change his tune soon.
