FTB Monster and AE quartz cutting knife

I am having an odd issue and did not know what to do.

I am trying to craft an AE quartz cutting knife. I have all materials in the crafting table and I see the finished product. When I try to pick up the finished knife it snaps back into the finished portion of crafting table. I have tried shift-clicking on it and I see it for a split second in my inventory, then goes back to crafting table.

Any ideas on what would cause this?

I had a similar problem with the Jaded ladder from openblocks on the server I play on. My best guess is that the server owner disabled the crafting recipe for the knife. If there is another reason, though, I'l love to hear it!

Ok I got it. I looked though all the configs and found that these were not default:
B:enableBCtoMEChipRecipe=true
B:useBuildcraftChips=true

After I set them to false(which is their defaults) I could craft the knife.
