FTB Modpack Servers won't start

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Title FTB Modpack Servers won't start

Launcher Type Server

Modpack HermitPack/DW20

Modpack version any of the MC 1.10.2 packs

Have you modified the pack? No

Details of the issue I've been trying to get one of the new 1.10.2 modpack servers going. I've tried various versions of the Hermitpack and Direwolf20 pack and both have the same results. I can launch a singleplayer world in either and share it on the LAN no problem, but for some reason I can't start a standalone server. I've hosted many, many servers in the past and have never seen this issue before.

Got the same problem.
I was able to get this sorted out a while back. Apologies for not updating the status here.

Anyway, to fix the issue I basically had to manually download Forge. Rorax has a great tutorial on how to do this here.
Once you go through those steps, you navigate to the forge installation directory you used in the tutorial, copy the contents of the 'libraries' folder there to the 'libraries' folder of your Server installation directory, and you should be good to go.

It seems like some step that should install these files to your server directory when you start it up the first time isn't doing what it's supposed to.

I'm at work and typing this from memory so I may have left something out. I'll confirm once I get home, but hopefully this will point you in the right direction.
