I cannot stand how the recipe moves to other ways of forming it... is there anyway to turn it off? and it just add pages or am I SOL?

I like that there's 20 ways to make a macerator but i just want to use one way to build it without it showing me.

Let me know... If not, I am sure I will get used to it soon ;-/

I don't believe there is but you can blame Greg Tech if you want someone to blame :P

Basically, he added the circuits to the Forge Ore dictionary so that they are classed as equal, just like all the different woods, tins, coppers etc. The only reason it's more of a pain is because they are all very different items. Personally, I like to stick to the original item used, it just means I'm keeping track of one and since I know roughly which ones are harder to make, I can make educated guesses as to what needs what.

Actually, I recall there is a way to stop NEI from rotating between different equivalent items - a particular key to press. Can't recall which, though, sorry!

If that's what you're asking about, anyway. If you're complaining about the pages and pages of recipes, on the other hand...

For the record: in most cases, the IC2 circuits will require the least infrastructure/odd resources to set up, and GT allows you to substitute Electrum (from lava) for redstone in those circuit recipes, doubling your yield in the meantime. Circuit unification isn't really necessary if the default option really is the best one.

Not really.

IC2 circuits (not advanced) require a lot of copper wire, and copper is a very highly used resource (bronze for mixed metal ingots).

I like using the Iron Vacuum Tube recipe substitution. Iron is moderately plentiful, and you get 4 tubes for 5 iron. Granted, the machine uses 4 gold, so there is more up-front cost. But in the long-term, I think the payoff is there.

Right, right, forgot that not everyone uses the lava centrifuge like I do. Haha. Really got to remember that more often.

I use Golden Electron Tubes and Pulsating Chipsets for normal/advanced circuits respectively. Especially the latter is a no-brainer.

More on topic, it would be nice if NEI showed the recipes using one item at a time, not all the different combinations. For example for a MFE, cycle between a variant with 4 crystals and one with 4 Lithium Batteries. Sometimes especially in advanced recipes it's kinda hard to GROK which circuit variant goes where.
