Hi,

Im quite new to FTB but its going well and I experience a great time with it. Thanks for that.

But when I started with FTB, I just downloaded it into my "Downloads" Folder and started it. It then by default created all the related files in that location. Yesterday I wanted to move FTB and my World to a proper location and got confused: I copied the Launcher and the related files to the new location, but when I started FTB, it downloaded all the files to the old directory "Downloads" and my world wasn't available anymore. I tried to change the path in the config file, but that didn't work. Then I tried to just leave the launcher file in the new directory, so that it doesn't have any files where it could get the information from (my idea was, to let it install its file there and later copy my world to that dir). That also didn't work, since I guess you save the "installation path" somewhere else, maybe in the registry?

Whatever, finally I discovered the option to set the installationpath in the launcher. But maybe im not the only one who struggled on this. So here comes my suggestion:

Save the location of the launcher.exe also, at the same location where you save the installation path. If someone moves the launcher.exe to a new location, ask him when he starts the launcher.exe, if he moved it and if he wants to set the installation path to the new location. That could save a lot of trouble.

Another solution would be, to have the installtion directory by default be the same where the launcher is (relative path), until someone defines an absolute path in the options.

Hope this helps, keep on the great work and I'm looking forward to seeing this growing better and better. FTB rocks. really. (coming from Technic & Tekkit).

Ahh, I've looked for that, but I didn't see it. Its quite hidden at the bottom. Thanks! I would be pleased if a mod could move this thread down to the proper forum.
