Hi, I've been going through the forums for the past few hours, no solutions that work for me.

Windows 7 x64
Bitdefender AV/Firewall
IP: Verizon
Java 1.7.45 x64

http://pastebin.com/bdUZtJ4Q

I've followed the basic troubleshooting guide to the letter, no luck.
Clean install of Java 7_45 x64 (and no others!)
AV/Firewall isn't blocking (and yes, I double checked)
Completely erased all FTB Launcher data (several times at this point...)

I've uploaded a screenshot as well just to be certain people know where I'm stuck.

Only option for download location is Automatic.

Regular vanilla Minecraft.exe has no problems running, but I'm a bit like Direwolf20...

Things to note: bottom of the pastebin upload (past the blank line) is what I got when I first tried to launch, AND the error i got when I tried to automatically upload to pastebin, I had to eventually do it manually)

I've been pouring over various forums for a fix for the past 6 hours so PLEASE don't ask me to retry the basic troubleshooting guide! I've become slightly sleep deprived, so I may go off like a creeper if someone asks me that after I've tried it several times...

I'm on a home network, router, always on DSL connection ~12 mb/s if that's what your asking.

When I said I had checked the firewalls, I included network firewalls.

Have you tried loading www.creeperrepo.net ?
as in visiting the website on a browser? ping and tracert work, it gets me to the Chicago server. Just that the launcher isn't getting to it.

I've been trying to confirm that the firewall is even detecting traffic leaving from my end (the Launcher) gets onto the Lan/Wan to connect but no luck so far.

Can you tell me the IP address of the final stage of the Traceroute? I can get Paul from Creeperhost to check it out and see if there are any issues on that end. Otherwise, try disabling any parental filters/controls that may be present.

final hop is to chicago1.creeperrepo.net [199.96.83.199]

It's my personal rig, so I've never bothered to install parental filters.

Ok, sent some info to CreeperHost to see if there is anything on there end, otherwise it is your computers network card or drivers. Or your ISP.[DOUBLEPOST=1386711331][/DOUBLEPOST]Ok, CreeperHost have asked for an MTR log so they can see if there is a network issue. Use this to get the MTR log: http://winmtr.net/winmtr_download/ (I scanned it with up to date BitDefender Total Security, nothing viral about it)

Right, I am sorry to have to ask you to do this, but can you please triplecheck that your firewall is not blocking it? Paul from Creeperhost has told me that the packet loss is nothing to be concerned, it is something on your computer...

well, I had shut down my firewall (both router and onboard for good measure) now bitdefender is screaming at me that there isn't a firewall running, and it STILL isn't connecting. so if there's something blocking it, I doubted it would be too, because Bitdefender has a tendency to make a LOT of noise if it detects/blocks suspicious traffic. is there some other reason that could explain this?

Out of curiosity, would port forwarding help? not sure which ports FTB Launcher uses.

I'm starting to get suspicious about BitDefender, because while it's screaming about having the firewall disabled, I'm starting to wonder if it's telling the truth... though I have added a firewall exception for the Launcher exe.

I've tried to find any network traffic associated with the Launcher in/out, but nothing.

wait, I had en epiphany

setx _JAVA_OPTIONS -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true

I HAD tried this earlier, but I reinstalled Java afterward >.< I was looking through java settings and it hit me that it would have been lost during the last uninstall.

ok guys, thanks for the help,
