I work in IT. I don't really like any of the home versions of any antivirus software. It causes more problems than it is worth often. Now the corporate versions of antivirus software aren't too bad. They help with viruses, and stay out of the way most of the time. Of course like most antivirus, they miss a lot of the nasty surf by malware infections.

It is Legit, it's actually a really popular choice. Pirate-themed, sure, but that's just part of the charm.

Avast is the only AV I ever use now. Free, has updates to the virus definitions daily (sometimes more) which are installed unobtrusively, besides a voice file playing telling you it has been updated. I have never had a false positive with it either, like in this case here.

I you are safe you don't even need an antivirus, just a firewall with some file security involved (Comodo is what I use).. I recommend you check it.. (And everyone else of course)

And this is why no one uses Norton Anti-Virus, it's a useless rootkit.

It's something that rhymes with "kit"...

I've used F-Secure for a few years now and am extremely happy with it.
