FTB Launcher Errors

Hey guys,

I'm trying to play FTB and the launcher is now giving me all sorts of issues.

I had the games downloaded and none of them would play except ultimate. All the others would just load up the Mojang screen and then hang on a black screen.

So, I deleted everything and decided to start over from scratch.

Now, none of the mods will download. I press launch and it says I don't have a premium account and asks if I would like to play offline. That's fine with me so I click yes and absolutely nothing happens.

Any thoughts?

Without the logs we cannot help much. Please follow this guide to install the launcher the recommended way. If after that you are still experiencing problems post a console log to pastebin.com and link to it here. Look here for more info about the logs.

I did not get a chance to ask this eariler. Not to be rude, but you do have a premium, as in paid for, minecraft account? If you do try to log into vanilla. Also you might want to try your e-mail address your account might have been changed to a mojang account and if it was you need to use the e-mail you used to sign up for minecraft. Also I have not seen any posts recently about the minecraft serves being down, but that might also be a possibility if your premium. When the servers are down we have to play offline and cannot log into servers or download our skins and such.

Edit: When the servers are down we also cannot install minecraft which was my point about the servers being down.

I need help I have made an account on minecraft and on here but every time I try to log in it says wrong username or password and I am using the right passwords and username

The launcher needs to be logged into at least once with a premium paid minecraft account per mod pack you want to use. From there you can choose to play offline if the internet is down or unreachable which is where you heard you can play offline as the game has already been downloaded and signed. Also if you update the mod pack I believe it needs a premium account again as I believe it will download the game again to be modded. The launcher mods the game for you it will not allow you to play it without paying for it. Suffice it to say you need to pay for the game.

If like Darkranger85 above you have a minecraft account that is not premium you are out of luck. If you have one then try my earlier suggestions to making your premium account work.

If I get a premium account would I be able to play a LAN game with my brother who doesn't have a premium?

This is the official FTB forums, offering support for mostly only paid Minecraft accounts. Both you and your brother have to pay for Minecraft to play. The only way to play Minecraft without paying is illegal, and we don't support that / won't help you do that. Tl;Dr: just buy Minecraft. If your brother wants to play, have him buy Minecraft too. If your friends want to pay have them buy it etc.

I was mislead to thinking that it was free to play offline.
