Title FTB Infinity Evolved performance issues

Details of the issue The game seems to have sudden lag-issues when I enter my house. I experienced drops from 60 to 18fps, even though the hardware should be sufficient: i5 4570, GTX 970 and 10GB Ram. I allocated 6GB of ram to the JVM, still the issues didn't disappear. Is there anything else I can do to improve performance or are ~100 machines already the maximum for a 3 years old CPU? (I also reduced chunk-loading range to 2 and turned off AA/AF, still same problems, other cpu-intensive games like anno 2205 or BF4 work perfectly fine at 60fps).
