Details of the issue Added several minor client-side only mods, such as AppleCore (to see how much hunger food restores), liteloader (with Gammabright, Autofish, Macros, and Omniscience), Block Placer (haven't used it yet), No Nausea, Optifine, XRay, and Zyin's HUD. I'm playing on a server, and at random points, I crash to the menu, not to desktop. I've already checked with the server owner, and the server and client are both running the latest version of the pack. Given that this is an EIO network decoding error, I don't think any of my client-side mods are responsible, but if someone can point me to evidence that they are, I'll just do without. I routinely play with these mods and more in singleplayer, and haven't crashed there yet, so it might be possible. I can upload a full log if need be, but it's 3 MB.

Also, several of those sound like they are more than just client side mods. Since you have modified the pack the best bet is to start with a fresh copy of the pack. Make sure it works and there is no issue with server. Then add one or two of the extra mods and test it with the extra mods until the find the problem. Make sure your testing it thorough and long enough before you adding the next few mods.

Okay, so:

Fresh pack install worked fine for several hours, where I had been crashing within thirty minutes.
Added BlockPlacer and Zyin's HUD, hours went by, no crash.
Added liteloader with Gammabright, Macros, Omniscience, and Autofish, same thing.
Now adding Optifine. We'll see how it goes.

Added Optifine and AppleCore, still fine. Either I'm getting lucky, or it's one of No Nausea or XRay.
