So, I recently updated my server to 1.6.2. Before I did this, I made two identical mobs spawners using cursed earth and they was both working great. Now, after updating, only one of the two rooms are spawning mobs. I've removed the ProjectRed lamps, I've rebuilt the room with new cursed earth but it still doesn't seem to work.

You're hitting the mob cap? Light up everything else around the place, including all caves. Also, using the watering can on the cursed earth makes it spawn mobs faster.

Wait, what? Watering can on cursed earth makes it go faster? My farm is going to be so much more gross now.

You cannot AA the normal watering can. Only the reinforced. Works good though if you need mobs fast though.

No idea what this crafting recipte costs but I´m sure it will be OP anyway :) thx!
It costs you one heart of health permanently. You get the soul fragment by placing the etheric sword in your personal crafting grid and you lose the heart when you take the fragment. There's a cheat item in NEI to get the heart back, you have to cheat it in.

I don´t care about my soul :) I´m the kind of people that always run around with half a heart because I´m starving all the time.

I believe it's available as an extremely rare mob drop now.

In FTB Infinity, and indeed in virtually all Tech mod packs, there is a non cheat way to create reinforced watering cans without loosing any hearts, well not quite true, the first watering can has to be made in the normal way, but if you know how, and I'm not going to tell how (except to say, its a feature of the mod being in a Technical mod pack), after that you can make as many as you want.

Let me guess, auto crafting? Item dupes?

We tend to call those exploits, not features.

Well using reinforced watering can to make cursed earth spawn faster is nearly the same exploit as crafting it without losing hearts.
Or just bad mod integration. Call it how you wan´t but at the end its a sandbox game. Everybody can and should play/build what he likes.

I personally won´t use it cause it seems to OP for me :)

Uhh, no it isn't? Watering can and cursed earth are both from ExU. So it's obviously intended. The whole point of the cursed earth itself is that you can make compact dark room mob farms to lessen lag caused on a server. A lot of the ExU stuff are low-lag alternatives to other mods' features.

Crafting the reinforced watering can without losing a heart is only possible with cross-mod exploits. I don't know what exploit allows it but it is either something using fake players (ought to be fixed) or item duplication which is something that should be fixed regardless.

Not auto crafting, and not dupes, at least not in the sense that items magically appear, it does take resources, expensive resources at that, you can automate it, but you don't have to to get the result.

As for an exploit... hard to say... the mod that creates the watering cans is doing exactly what it was designed to do, their no exploiting unexpected behaviour, but it is questionable of course if watering cans should be allowed to be created that way.
