I need help installing Optfine with FTB Infinity 1.1.0. I have tried all of the old ways of installing it (I havent played MC or MC mods in a while) Could someone be a legend and lend me a hand doing this with some advice?

In the Optifine Minecraft Forum thread there should be a normal optifine download and one Compatible with Forge.. you want the one compatible with forge. Than just drop it in the mods folder for whichever instance you are trying to use it on. Make sure it matches the minecraft version that pack is running. So you want Optifine for 1.7.10 Forge Compatible

Actually I highly recommend not using Optifine. It isn't what it used to be in modded minecraft.
If it wasn't awkward as hell, then it probably would have been included in packs. There's a reason it hasn't been distributed with packs for a long time now.

This guy is likely a lost cause. This is his second thread on this topic, and he should already know how to get Optifine working with Infinity thanks to SenseiDragon. And he knows that Optifine causes problems. That was his complaint in the first thread.

My efforts to explain it weren't an endorsement for Optifine, it was to try and help the guy get the solution he was looking for. I frequently go between using it and getting fed up with the bugs and removing it again. However, it bugs me when people ask for a solution in the form of "how to I do X using Y" and invariably, someone comes along and says "don't use Y".

With all due respect to people who may have fallen into that category, I posted my answer to try to assist the person with what he was looking for, not to redirect or discourage him. Now whether he chooses to follow it, heed the warnings about not using Optifine, or start a third thread asking basically the same question is up to him. I certainly won't be repeating my answer a third time. :)

As a minor nitpick and complete derailment of the original point of the thread, following the "there's a reason it hasn't been distributed..." logic would lead me to further wonder why FTB hasn't included Mekanism in (afaik) any modpack. I don't care to speculate on the reasons, if any actually exist. Instead, to keep my feet out of potentially murky waters or stupid conspiracy theories, I try to avoid those types of phrases.

Well if the person is asking a question for a second time, then I will give the "don't do Y" answer. If you hadn't said "I have shown you how to do this before" then I would have explained, but still have said "although, it is advised not to use it", or whatever

Patient: Doc, it hurts when I do this!
Doctor: Well then don't do that.
