Distillation Tower requires significant automation in order to set up and keep running. It only accepts/outputs cells so you need to link in two liquid transposers to create the biomass cells and empty the biofuel cells.

It also requires regular biomass input which in turn requires a fermenter setup and a steady influx of both fermentable material (which requires a sustainable farm) and compost/mulch/fertilizer (which requires additional sustainable resources).

It's also rather expensive to build. Greg just seems to hate "free" energy.

Aside from the thermal generator, apparently. Flat-out 50% buff to one of the easiest methods of EU production on any server that allows nether-pumping. Always confused me, that one.

Hello everybody,

I'm a fairly new beginner to FTB and have been wondering for quite some time now about my EU power source.
I originally had wood and stuff burn on a generator then moved on the a geothermal. that didn't work out as I had to continually get lava from the volcano with my jetpack - that was wasting EU!
So then I switched back to the normal generator and I'm running out of coal as well as using the coal to make a Nano suit!
I need a power source and I have so far considered Water-Mills - I could get that if I worked hard on it and Solar Panels - It's going to be hard to get those silicon plates!

Is there any more power sources if so list them below! :)

(I'm running on the Ultimate Pack)

Thanks in advance and lease reply fairly quickly,

Nether lava. Pump + two rs engines + liquid tesseract / endertank.

You'll have to move it occasionally.

It's the easiest beginner set up out there which can bring you well into mid game.

It doesn't however scale well and won't be able to cover your needs later on.

Side-note: Chunkloader set to max (if the server allows it) to minimise the frequency of having to move it. Pump will stop working if it it's spotloaded and drains all the lava in the loaded chunk; it will not pull from neighbouring unloaded chunks.

In my current world I use geothermal as my main power source, and have used it since the beginning. I've started using solar panels for my GT machines, as well as Nuclear Reactors. Nuclear Reactors are more towards end game, but hey, its a goal! I would go either hydroelectric power (if it is still in IC2), wind power, biodiesel power (Bio Generator from Forestry), or thermal power. Solar Panels are expensive and you don't get a whole lot of EU. Nuclear Reactors are dangerous.
