Hey so im new to this stuff and i have a steam dynamo its working and all but how do i put augment into it like i see the tab for it but i click it and it does not open?

You have to upgrade machines before the 'augment' tab opens. Look up 'upgrade kit' in JEI. There are four, each one allows you to add an extra augment and you have to apply earlier ones before later ones.
