FTB crashing my mac 2-10 minutes after launching

I open the ftb launcher, and select mindcrack pack. (it also happens in ulitmate) I go into my single player and play for 5 mins. then my screen goes black and my computer shuts off. then i turn it back on and re-launch and it happens again. :(
so, if anyone has/had this problem or is able to help please write back.
Thanks for your time

P.S. I called Apple and they said that they couldn't do anything because it was not one of their programs.

We're also having problems, FTB opens fine, we choose Ultimate (haven't tried any others yet) it gets to the point where it says Minecraft Validated-Launching then it stays at 0% and the the entire FTB launcher disappears as if I had never opened it. >:/ I'm not computer savvy but if anyone knows how to fix this it would be great. I'm going to try another mod pack and see what happens.

Download SMC Fan control and make sure your computer does not reach around 90-100 degrees Celsius. Macs force shut down if they get to hot, to prevent your computers insides from melting. That or you allocated too much RAM and your computer doesn't have the space to do anything else.
