(The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open)
This error is often caused by an over zealous antivirus program. Try adding the launcher/modpack folder to your antivirus programs exclusion list.

Edited in case Nateappletree has a server error instead: If this is a server error report you want to do this on the server and add the server pack folder. If this was on a client as in SSP error then you want to do the above on the client obviously.

Im getting the same thing
If it is really the same you will have the above quote in your log/error report as well. If so then try doing the same. If it is not please make a new thread with an error report or console log in pasted into pastebin.com and linked in the new thread.

Thanks. I recently switched from norton to avg and so that must be the problem. How to i add it to an exclusion list on AVG internet security 2014?

Using the free version myself, so it doesnt come with a firewall. But I would guess you need to open AVG and click the point "Firewall", should be something about exceptions inthere.

Best solution: Don't use AVG :p
Get avast or microsoft security essentials
AVG is perfectly fine, specially since its basic solution is free. And its rather low resource. Been using it for many years now and never had any issues. And you can hardly blame AVG for trying to protect him from something relatively unknown.

AVG is on the core list of security programs to constantly involve itself with launchers for modded minecraft. (Among this list includes Norton, McAfee and formerly Avira) The issue usually arises from the free-trial versions, then the following paid versions. These programs, if you don't know to set the launcher to 'allow', can make a royal mess of installation.
You know your way around your computer, many others do not.
