Operating System, bit type: Window 7, 64 bit
Java version/update, bit type: java 7 update 45, 64 bit
Launcher version: 1.3.2
Completed the troubleshooting guide (y/n): yes
Console log, pastebin.com link: http://pastebin.com/dcEuksFk
Description of the problem: FTB creates a new folder on my desktop named "FTB" even though I am launching it out of a folder named "FTBClient". When I attempt to launch any modpack the client crashes and minecraft does not start.

Welcome. Thank you for posting in the correct format.

[INFO] JavaFinder.parseWinJavaVersion:137: Java Version: 1.7.0_45 sorted as: 1.7.0_45 32 Bit Java at : C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe
[INFO] JavaFinder.parseWinJavaVersion:137: Java Version: 1.7.0_11 sorted as: 1.7.0_11 64 Bit Java at : C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_11\bin\java.exe
You have two versions of Java installed. Uninstall the 32bit version and the 64bit jdk version. Restart you computer then install the jre 7u45 64bit version. Then restart you computer.

As for the reason you're getting folders created on your desktop is because that is where the launcher is told to put it. Open the launcher and go to the Options tab. Change the 'Install folder...' to 'C:\Users\user\Desktop\FTBClient' instead of 'C:\Users\user\Desktop' Substitute 'user' for your log in name. You might have to delete the folder off your desktop or copy it over to the FTBClient folder if you have saves you want to keep.

I see no error in the log are you letting the pack download and load and install? Sometimes it can take quite a while on some computers. Even if it does not seem to be doing anything it is still loading and installing the pack.

yes. it fully downloaded. there were 5 loading screens that popped up, each about 20 seconds apart, the console runs through a bunch of processes (i think. all the lines of code going through it). then minecraft window opens with the mojang white screen, appearing to be loading. after about 10 seconds both the console and the minecraft window close and nothing happens.

when I click on launch again the same thing happens with the console, the lines of code run, the minecraft window appears, then they both crash.

Go to the Options tab and see if the 'Reopen launcher after exiting minecraft' box is checked. If not check it close and restart the launcher. This option should reopen the launcher and console allowing you to see the bug in the console. From there post a pastebin log. If it is checked and the console does not reappear check the minecraft folder of the mod pack for an error log. If you find one please post its contents to pastebin.com and provide the link that it gives. The log you gave me earlier does not have enough information to provide help beyond telling you to follow the trouble shooting guide again more carefully.

(The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open)
This is a known and common error. It means your antivirus program is being over zealous in its protection of you and keeping minecraft from accessing said file. Add the folder 'C:\Users\JP\Desktop\FTBClient\' to the exceptions list of your antivirus program. Be sure to check any folders that say 'include sub-folders'.
