Details of the issue
just downloaded mineos followed a detailed guide to get the beyond server up and running, just updated java 64 bit not sure what to do from here or what I'm doing wrong "this is my first try at setting up a modded server

Note this is a server on my own network sitting about 10 feet from me, verified working settings with a vanilla game and could log in and play without issue

I'll check when I get a moment I got the latest release but I did use mineos to download the server just chose ftb beyond and am running 10.2 client side just like the thing says when you are running an old version, how it displays in red the version you want

10.2 is the minecraft version, there's also versions of the mod pack (latest release now is 1.8.0 of the pack)

When I set up the server originally I loaded minecraft 7.10.2 I think and it wanted client of 10. If that makes sense

No that doesn't make sense.

Just be sure to match both MC-version and pack version on client and server.

GME version is 1.10.2 my client is 1.10.2

And you're sure that both server and client are running 1.7.0 ?

That was the issue, had to bring client to 1.7 and everything worked. Thanks guys,

Next endeavor is going to be how to upgrade the server and save my world

Simplest way is to just install the updated server download into a new folder/directory. Make sure it loads OK and you log into it. Then delete the world folder from the updated server and copy the world folder from you old 1.7 server to the new location.

Just move the world file it over like a file to a usb stick
