[FTB Beta A v12] Automation Question

So having never really used Buildcraft for it's pipes other then simple transport from one spot to another, is there a easy way to have it only pull out ores if there is a space for the ore to go in a grinder/macerator/pulverizer? Only solution i can think of off hand is a obsidian pipe at the point of entrance to collect overflow and send back to the chest I'm pulling from.

you can use gates on the pipes when the resources inventory is below a certain percent, and then send a signal to a gate on your chest to turn on an engine and send more items to be processed. the engine will turn off once enough items are back in the machine. you will need an assembly table and laser to make gates though.

a cheaper way to do it is to make a couple hoppers and place them on top of you macerator, then just pipe all your ores using a diamond pipe. each hopper will hold up to fours stacks, and will auto fill the block below until the inventory is gone. as long as you are pumping out the items from the machine, it should process all the ores.

Thanks, looks like a hopper or three stacked on top of each other gives enough space to be able to fit all ores into their storage.
