ftb ALL modpacks keep saying it need updating even when ive updated it

Whenever i try to access a modpack a message pops up saying "there is a new update for this modpack, would you like to update?" and when i click yes it updates and when i try to run the modpack the message pops up again!. PEACE

Welcome. I had the same issue with older versions of the launcher, but not recently. Check the file named version in the mod pack folder. Open it with notepad. If it is blank type in the version number of the pack it currently is that are using and save it. Make sure that there is no extension when you save it. Other than that where do you have the launcher and mod packs installed can make a difference. Check here for the recommended way to install them.

Thanks for your help, ill try it soon. Also i just installed the new version of FTB so yeah. thanks

EDIT: i tried the part you suggested to install FTB by and it didnt work.

Are there any errors or does it just prompt you to update again? Could you post a console log in debug mode to pastebin.com and link to it here. It is easy to do just click on the 'Paste my log to pastebin.com' It will give you a link to the log that you type or paste here. Look here for more info about the logs.

Edit: Are the packs you using the recommended version or an older version of the pack? If it is an older version be sure to select that version in the drop down box so that it does not ask you to update the older version to the recommended version. Or downgrade you if you are using a newer non-recommended version.

Have you added any mods to the pack? If so see if it asks you to update without the extra mods.
