Details of the issue:

I try and launch the server and nothing happens.​

Thanks for that. Looks like the batch file is working properly now

Hmm, the server is now running but the client doesn't see it in the multiplayer screen where it populates with the server names.

I think I'm doing something wrong.

Maybe if there were a way to find the IP of the server, then I could enter it manually.

If you are running the server on the same computer you are playing you should be able to connect to the server when you type localhost into the server address field. If you want other players to be able to connect you need to port forward.

Do you know what ports need to be forwarded?

The default port is 25565. If you want to use a different port you can change it in server.properties.

You dont have to put anything in the server.props. Just give them your IP and put this after it ":25565"
