I'm playing the "Test Pack Please Ignore" pack with gregtech. I have a decent amount of resources and now I am starting to get into more greg-tech machines and I'm starting to need more power. I need a way of making a decent amount of power. Currently I'm using steam dynamos which was good enough but now it's a problem. Thanks for any replies!

More steam dynamos

Or go to the nether and get lava for magmatic dynamos.

Or, if you are going down the IC2/gregtech route, geothermal generators. Same thing but they produce EU :)

Refineries are really efficient and create long lasting power, and you can use your steam dynamos with the fuel. Find an oil spout and tap it, storing the oil in Extra Utilities Drums until its dry. Plus, pumps are pretty cheap in TPPI so barrier to entry is low.

Grab a few Elite Energy cubes to store all your power.

Transition into Mekanism. Grab some Wind Turbines and isolate them to fuel a small energy cell that can power your ME network (drives and controller) for a short time while you gain more power.

From there the choices are all yours.

If you have a steam boiler and lots of steel you can use Railcraft's Steam Turbine. Other options are Diesel Generators (more efficient than IC2's Semifluid) or Thermal Generators (more efficient than Geothermal).
Note that you can use Mekanism's Universal Cable to convert between Joules, RF, MJ and EU.

EU has been disabled. I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think in TPPI output from a generator to a cable is disabled. I was able to power an extractor though from an energy cube > universal cable > extractor.

Why would they disable "universal cable" function of being universal?
