I created a feed the beast server about a month ago and it has been working fine. but just recently out of nowhere, it says to my friends that they cant reach my server. I didint make any changes to my computer(I think). It did randomly say that i needed to restart my computer for changes to take effect even though im not sure if i made changes. I don't think this is a feed the beast issue but i thought id ask here anyways since i cant find this anywhere else.

If you can connect and they cannot, then it is likely a firewall (your computer or your router), or port forwarding (again, on your computer or router) issue.
Also, do you have any sort of IP forwarding going on from an outside provider? I use a No-IP service that allows people to connect to my local dynamic IP server by name, and when I restart sometimes I need to poke the No-IP app to let it remap the domain name to the dynamic IP.

Also if you're using Hamachi or something like that, it is possible that your router might be blocking it for some reason. I've had a similar problem before
Okay, well if its not something as simple as that, we will need to know why he can't connect. What is the message he gets when trying to connect to your server? ( I saw you said can't reach the server but I want to make sure) Also, if you're using FTB server you should have a cmd windows that says more in details why he can't connect, copy paste the event you see when hes trying to connect.
ok i found it, i discovered that my IP address randomly changed. but i appreciate the attention and thanks for the help
Ah yes, common problem!
If you want to avoid this, do not log into your server using localhost or something alike. Use the same IP you give your friends.. so if you will connect the same way they do

You might want to use a dynamic DNS service. That way you do not have to tell your friends about a new IP every time it changes.
