Bug Friend is unable to install+play FTB Infinity

Appearantly the Support page didn't bring us further here, all of the tips provided there were already tried out, so I'm posting this issue here.

A friend of mine tried to install and play FTB Infinity. Everything went smoothly, however upon startup, we discovered an error message that "CoFHCore : Any" was missing. We tried re-installing several times, everything [such as Java] is up-to-date, long story short we're on the bottom of the list with no result.
 
To which? The newest version doesn't work for him, yet it's proven to work at my computer.
 
and windows is using THAT version specifically? In the Java settings panel, there is an area to check which version of java is in use/to be used.
