I have scoured the internet and all threads concerning this, and there appears to be quite a few people with the same problem. They sometimes list it different ways. It seems to be common among Nvidia users, though a friend on the server I play has a GTX 570 and is not having issue. Basically this is issue. I run at high fps most places but as soon as I enter Twilight, some Mystcraft ages, and or the Jungle Biomes while in flight it starts to degrade with "hitches" which become spikes....which becomes 1-20 seconds of freezing. It appears to happen around complex leafy tree areas.

I am running on an i7 3770k with GTX 670, and 8GB of ram.

I have upgraded to latest nvidia drivers.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled java (win 7 64) (no prev versions)

I have uninstalled and reinstalled FTB. I have made sure Javaw.exe is listed in Nvidia applications.

I am NOT running optifine, and not likely too do to it's issues with some mods.

I have played with memory settings from 2gb to 5gb not much difference.

When the problem Occurs disconnecting and reconnecting does not stop issue, only completely closing down minecraft and restarting it does, but it soon comes back.

I have cleared other processes to best of my ability, I have minimized any effect Anti-Virus could have.

What I have found is this seems to be a common problem for many people, but I never had it on single player. (but I didn't use 1.5.2, I used 1.6.4 and 1.7.2) and other people on this server do not have issue just two of us. I am in TS with other players and server admin when playing and they are not getting any issues. I have a 100+ Mbs connection with server (fiber) so not an issue.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Okay did a test in single player if I give myself uber speed and flight I can make it freeze briefly if I really push it.....but nothing like what I see on multiplayer. So same set up on single player does not cause this issue. It's just weird other people on server have not had same issue but then some have. The server and players for most part are all on Fiber with 100Mbs or 1 gig connections in same local area.....(EPB).......Just wondering if I am only one having issue what setting or problem could be causing this.......it feels more like a memory leak since it progresses from smooth to a degradation to lock. I am stumped.
