FPS on infinity?

Details of the issue:

I think I'm getting lower FPS on FTB infinity than I should. I'm running a laptop with 6700HQ, 16gb DDR4 ram and a gtx 980m. I'm getting around 20 to 27 fps only. What's werid is I get 60 70 fps easy using the same settings on my desktop that runs a 4770k,16gb ddr3 ram and a gtx 760.

Is this due to the lower laptop CPU? I don't think it's that much lower anyway.​

Could be a mod playing up, im playing unstable 1.8.9 at mostly 60fps but I discovered if you put a neotech clock on a TiCo smeltery spout my FPS tanked to 15 from 60.

Have you checked if Advanced OpenGL is enabled?

Are you running windowed or fullscreen? If you are using windowed I advise to install Fullscreen Borderless mod. With my 760 and FX-8320 the FPS increased from 30-50 to 70+
