FPS HELP

i just got a new computer and im trying to play ftb i could play it on my old computer fine but now when i start playing after about 1-2 minutes of gameplay i get a fps drop from 36 fps to 10 fps and its really starting to annoy me can anyone help???

computer specs:
-processor intel core i5
-8Gb RAM
- 1 terabyte memory
-windows 7 home premium

Does this problem occure everywhere? Meaning:

• new world
• world
• server

Have you tried installing optifine?

every world but not every server and i have not tried optifine ill try it and tell you what happens

Okay. When you server, do you mean a local server (on your pc) or a dedicated (not on your pc) server?

Optifine is able to reduce the FPS lag a lot. I had 20-30 without any machines in a new serverworld and with a good configured optifine I suddenly had 100-120 FPS.

What disturbs me is the fact that your old PC was running fine. Is Java 7 installed on the new PC?

the dedicated servers dont lag but my worlds lag a lot and i tried to download optifine i couldnt i tried to download it and it didnt work

Did you install it correctly by adding it to the jar mods section.
